Peter Norbeck South Dakota UNITED STATES SENATE WASHINGTON D.C.
January 29th 1925 Hon. Commissioner of Pensions Washington, D.C.
My Dear Sir:
Will you kindly have me advised as to the service record of one John Green, who, as I understand, served for five years in the Continental Army under Colonel Dermeres (I an not sure that this is the correct spelling.)
While I am not advised as to what state organization this soldier was connected with, I am informed that he received a pension; that he died July 6, 1853, in Buncom County, N. Carolina; that he married Miss Elizabeth Jones and was the father of seven children, named as follows: Shadric, Joseph, Arthur, Aaron, James two daughters each named Isabel (first one died).
If soldier's Revolutionary War record can be traced from above information, I will be pleased to be informed as to what your records show relative thereto.
Yours very truly,
Peter Norbeck |
