Page 49 students when everyone seemed to go wild after winning a
basket ball game and we would join hands and perform a snake dance through the
streets and then rush a picture show.
That night in the State House when the gavel fell and ended the session the legislators began to yell and throw everything that was loose. They were yelling, laughing and slapping one another with hands or rolled up news papers and seemed to be having a wonderful time. I was inside the chambers and enjoying every bit of it. I felt someone grab my by the neck and seat of the pants and I was put out side. I was wondering in the halls when Pa found me a few minutes later. He asked me who put me out and I told him it was Len Oldaker. Pa took me by the hand and we went looking for Oldaker. We didn’t find him. Probably just as well we didn’t. Pa was an easy going man.
