And stayed there till five o’clock and got aboard the cars and landed at Nashvill, tenn the 27.  On the evening of the 28 we went 1 ˝ miles north east of the banks of the  Cumberland river.  On the morning of the 29 we left there for Chattonooga with a drove of cattle and marched 16 miles 

30. we started on our march and tuck dinner in 5 miles of murfeesborrow and then marched in one mile of murfeesborrow and camped for the night on the banks of the cumberland river.  And camped on the battlefield of murfeesborrow on the banks of the stone river.  we ???last nine head of cattle that night.

June 1st. marched 12 miles and camped for the night. 

2.marched 13 miles through rain and camped for the night

2 we drove the rebs through Jonesburrough and 5 miles the other side and built works at night.

15.  started on our march and the 40th drove the rebs 6 miles and waded the slew all day and there was one killed and two wounded in the 40th.

17.  crossed the waterloo river and went into Columbia and skirmished with the rebs to the edge of town and at night the town was set on fire and burnt the biggest part of the town down that night.

23 marched from Alexandria to Washington City and camped in town for the night.

May 24, 1865. marched through washington city on review and marched 7 miles from town and camped for the night in camp at crystal springs near washington city and we got on the cars and landed at parkerburg on the evening of the 2nd of June and went in camp for the night.

3. got aboard of the boat at louisville Kentucky on the fifth   still at louisville the morning of the 20th of July we left louisville.  The morning of the 25th of July crossed the Ohio river and got on the cars at New Albany Ind. And landed at Springfield, Ill the 27th of July

Aug 3. left camp butler went to Springfield and got payed and got our discharge and got on the cars on the morning of the 4th and landed at Clay City the morning of the 5th.
