Sir, I now take the opportunity of writing you a few lines concerning our
pention claim. I
can inform you that the err was in myself as to the dates of my Fathers Death,
for it was actuly on the 2n day of June 1853. how
come they mistake? the old man had moved to Madison County NC a few years
before his death. I have got the affadavits of Sidney Young and wife who attended daily
on the old man in all his sicknefs until his death. I have also got
the certificate of James C. Howel, justice of the peace of my county; and if you
think this proof is not sufficient, write quick to me and let me know, for I can
go into Madison County and git any amount of proof you want.
But it would put me to right-smart of troble for I would have
to get their County Seal to it. and
if you send this proof on to the city of Washington, write to me when ever you
git
